LEWISTON — Local singer Christina Ariola will perform at this month’s La Rencontre, “the gathering,” at 11:25 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at The Dolard and Priscilla Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St. 

La Rencontre is in no way restricted to French-speakers or even those of Franco descent. All are welcome to attend this fun monthly meal and event as long as spots remain open. The meal will be Yankee pot roast.

The day will conclude with Christina Ariola’s concert on the Heritage Hall stage, and several raffle prizes will be drawn. Ariola is originally from the New Jersey shore, where she has always had a natural talent for singing, coming from a family of professional singers and musicians. She will be performing songs from the 1940s and 1950s, as well as songs from today’s top chart hits. She has appeared at the Ramada, the Elks Lodge, Rails and several local health care facilities.

The cost of the meal and the programs is $10 per person. Year 2017 season passes for all 12 events, including the lobster roll luncheon, can be purchased for $99. The doors and the bar will open at 10 a.m. The center is handicapped-accessible.
