1947 – 2017

DOVER, N.J. — Paul E. Fournier, 69, of Wharton, N.J., passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 5, at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on Jan. 11, 1947, in Jay, to the late Roland and Adrienne Fournier, Paul grew up in Jay where he graduated from Jay High School, Class of 1965. Paul also graduated from Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute in 1968. He was drafted by the U.S. Army, where he served proudly during the Vietnam War until 1970.

Paul moved to Lincoln Park, N.J., in 1970 before residing in Parsippany and moving to Wharton in 1979. Paul was a skilled woodworker and owned and operated Paul E. Fournier General Contracting in Wharton.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Rena (DiStefano); beloved children, Melissa, Michael (Lori) and Michelle; cherished grandchildren, Ava and Jake; and his dear sisters, Claudette Jackson (Chet), Jeannine Chick (Art) and Lorraine Boucher; and many nieces and nephews.

Paul was predeceased by his sister, Rolande Purington.
