‘Maine and Native People’ workshop
FARMINGTON — Maine Wabanaki REACH will present a free Ally Workshop, “Maine and Native People: Understanding Our Relationship” from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4.
Maine and Wabanaki people are at an historical juncture in their long relationship. The ally workshop is an opportunity for non-native people to reflect on the shared history and future with native people. The workshop includes a very brief history of U.S. government relationships with native people, awareness of white privilege and ally responsibilities.

Bridge club lists winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners on Jan. 3 were, first, Jan and Vern Arey; second, Paul Sherman and Mike True; and, third, Les Buzzell and Paul Clement.
Winners on Jan. 9 were, first, Rosemarie Goodwin and Paul Sherman; second, Les Buzzell and Nancy Lindgren; third and first in B, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and Bob Kirchherr; second in B and first in C, Paul Clement and Roger Labbe; second in B, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; and, second in C, Cynthia and Bill Clifford.
Winners on Jan. 10 were, first, Jeanine Kivus and Marta Clements; second, Paul Clement and Mike True.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed.
There will not be a game Monday, Jan. 16.

Mexico Trail Blazers to meet
MEXICO — The Mexico Trail Blazers will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, downstairs at the Mexico Town Hall.

SeniorsPlus Bethel outreach hours
BETHEL — SeniorsPlus will offer outreach in Bethel from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month beginning Jan. 19 at Norway Saving Bank.
Representatives will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns the public may have about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.
All events are free and open to the public.

Debbie Irons at Norway Library
NORWAY — Debbie Irons, contemporary dancer, choreographer and educator, will be a special guest in the Children’s Department at Norway Memorial Library.
Kids will sing, play instruments and dance in the free class at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20. The class will follow the weekly preschool program Music and Movement at 10:30 am.
Irons will teach preschoolers Jamaican dance moves that will be featured in the GlobalLocal Dance Show on Jan. 27 at OHCHS.
Noel & Don at AMVETS
JAY — AMVETS Post 33 will have music by Noel & Don from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, on Main Street.

Canton Rec, Hi-Riders sledding party
CANTON — The Canton Recreation Department and the Canton Hi-Riders Snowmobile Club will host a sledding party from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, Wills home at 20 Dyke Drive, which is off of Staples Hill Road.
This is a free admission event, and the Snowmobile Club will provide hot chocolate, coffee and refreshments.
A fire will be burning in a fire pit where participants can get warm and have s’mores.
Those attending should bring sleds and dress for winter weather.
Livermore rabies clinic Jan. 21
LIVERMORE — A rabies clinic will be held 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Fire Station, 10 Crash Road.
Rabies vaccinations, good for three years, will cost $18 cash per animal. Other vaccinations for dogs and cats will be available with prices dependent on the vaccine.
Proceeds will benefit the Livermore Fire Department.

Hospital giving tree raises $1.7K
RUMFORD — Rumford Hospital announces it has raised over $1,700 from its second annual Christmas Giving Tree.
Donors were asked to purchase an ornament for $10 in honor of a friend or family member or in memory of a loved one. Ornaments were displayed on the Christmas tree in Rumford Hospital’s main lobby.
Local businesses could sponsor the Christmas Giving Tree for $100 or more.
All donations will directly benefit patients with cardiac issues and improve their quality of life through the Rumford Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
