1931 – 2017

DIXFIELD — Mary Walton, 85, died Friday, Jan. 13, at her residence in Dixfield.

She was born in Rumford on Oct. 30, 1931, the daughter of John and Mary (Hewey) MacNeill and had attended Andover schools. Mary had worked at Swain’s Mill in Andover, Raymond Akers Mill and Andover Wood Products putting panels together.

Mary enjoyed flowers and music and served as organist for many years at the Andover Congregational Church and the Dixfield Congregational Church.

She was married in Dixfield on Oct. 18, 1970, to Robert Walton who predeceased her.

Survivors include a daughter, Martha Ellen Cronin and husband, Joseph, of Andover; sons, Steven Wayne Knox and wife, Cheryl, of Canton and Randall Ray Knox of California; a stepson, Francis Walton and his wife, Ann, of Virginia; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren; and her longtime companion, Luke Morin of Weld.
