RIO RANCHO, N.M. —James H. “Jim” Vaughn passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, in Rio Rancho, N.M.
Jim was born to Gertrude and Harry Vaughn, May 31, 1933, in Lewiston. He is survived by his wife, Regina of 33 years marriage; his daughter, Jami, Manchester, N.H.; his son, Tom, Phoenix, Ariz.; stepson, Todd Dangelo (Jackie), New Jersey; two grandsons, Keegan and Tyler Vaughn, California; sisters-in-law, Rosetta and Barbara Viscolosi, New Mexico; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Eddie and Bobby; his sisters, Dot and Honey.
Jim spent his youth and most of his young adult life in Lewiston. His work in the semiconductor industry took him to several states including California, Utah, New Jersey and New Mexico where he retired from Phillips Semiconductor. He enjoyed his 19 years of retirement. Sixteen of those years were spent in Rio Communities where he was very active in community volunteer work. He joined the Tome Cooperative Art Gallery and was a member/manager for several years. He expressed his creativity working with the Southwest punched tin art. He also had time for a game of golf and participated in Senior Olympics earning several medals in track and field. Jim will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
