LEWISTON —”Maine’s Got Talent” is holding open auditions for musicians Sunday, Jan. 22, and Saturday, Jan. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Community Little Theater in Auburn in the Great Falls Performing Arts Center, 30 Academy St., Auburn.

Performers must be at least 16 years old and must bring their own musical accompaniment. This is an open audition; no appointment necessary. For more information, call: (207)782-2150

Auditions aim to secure 10 musical performers and two alternates who will compete for cash prizes of $750, $500, and $250 at the sixth annual “Maine’s Got Talent,” an annual fundraising event for local nonprofit Sandcastle Clinical & Educational Services and LA Hearing Center.

This year’s edition of “Maine’s Got Talent” will be presented on Saturday, March 4, at the Gendron Franco Center in Lewiston. Modeled after “American Idol,” and “America’s Got Talent,” a panel of three judges and audience feedback will determine winners of first-, second- and third-place cash prizes in front of a live audience. All proceeds from the event benefit Sandcastle Clinical & Educational Services and LA Hearing Center of Lewiston.

In its six years, “Maine’s Got Talent” has showcased musicians ranging from eight-person house bands to lone acoustic singer-songwriters, large-scale collegiate a capella groups to teen singers with ambition. Past performers are welcome to audition, as well.

We are always amazed at the incredible talent this community showcases at our fundraising event, Stephanie Gelinas, Sandcastle CEO, said.

Sandcastle Clinical & Educational Services, located on Strawberry Avenue in Lewiston, provides a full range of clinical and educational services to people of all ages and abilities.
