NORWAY — Despite recent snow, the Alan Day Community Garden is thinking spring, and it is extending the deadline for its organic seed sale.

Community members will have the opportunity to purchase organic seeds at discounted rates through Wednesday, Feb. 15. Proceeds will support the garden.

Seed order forms may be picked up at Cafe Nomad, Fare Share Coop, the Norway Memorial Library and the Paris Public Library and printed online at alandaygarden.wordress.com.

Completed order forms may be mailed with payment to Alan Day Community Garden, 26 Whitman St, Norway ME.

At the Community Garden, anyone can rent plots to grow food, attend free workshops and events and volunteer. Youth 13 years and older can apply to join the 4H Youth Leadership Program where they will help create a local food system, learn to grow and prepare healthy meals and teach others.

Every year, the Community Garden hosts hundreds of youth from local schools and colleges and many new and returning families who want to grow their own food. The garden is open to the public, and everyone is welcome to join.
