1949 – 2017
CANTON — Mark D. Tracy, 67, a resident of Canton passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, at Pinnacle Health Care in Canton, following a long battle with dementia.
He was born Nov. 23, 1949, in Waterville, the son of Martin L. Tracy Jr. and Florence (Wentworth) Tracy. Mark was a graduate of Williams High School in Oakland. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1969 to 1970. On Aug. 30, 1975, in Livermore, he married Nancy E. Brown.
Mark worked at Bath Iron Works for more than 30 years, welding and as a welding instructor in welding school. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and ATVing with his best friends, John and Marlene, in Jackman and going to his camp on Ragged Lake, where he also trapped for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nancy Tracy of Canton; his mother, Florence Tracy; his son, Nathan Tracy, and his daughter, Leigh Sturtevant and her husband, Josh, all of North Turner; six grandchildren, Genny, Hunter, Justin, Ayden, Rylan and Dylan; his sister, Faye Swanholm and her husband, Mike, of Readfield; and his brother, Guy Tracy and his wife, Jaylene, of North Turner; in-laws, Judy and Maynard Farrington of Jay; Linda Gammon, Robert and Linda Barrett, Gerald Brown and Steve and Cheryl Knox, all of Canton.
He was predeceased by his father, Martin L. Tracy Jr.
