FARMINGTON — The Western Maine CA$H Coalition will offer tax preparation in Greater Franklin County beginning Thursday, Jan. 26, and running through March 23. Tax preparation is free for eligible filers (those with a household income of $54,000 or less).

Volunteer preparers are trained to look for individuals who will qualify for federal tax credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child and Dependent Care Credit.

The tax site will be open from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and on from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays on the third floor of Roberts Learning Center at the University of Maine Farmington.

While walk-ins will be served as time permits, appointment should be scheduled to ensure tax preparer availability.
