LEWISTON — Suspected credit union robber Brent Roaix remained at the county jail Friday without bail.
Roaix, 33, of 76 Elm St. in Lewiston may face federal charges two days after he allegedly threatened a teller at Rainbow Federal Credit Union on Main Street.
Police said Roaix went into the business Wednesday afternoon and handed a note to the teller, claiming he was armed and demanding money.
Roaix made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, but was arrested minutes later when police tracked him to a house on nearby Wakefield Street.
Roaix has remained at the Androscoggin County Jail since his arrest. He has not yet appeared in a local court because federal prosecutors are preparing to take over the case.
Roaix has a criminal history that includes convictions for forgery and robbery in the Lewiston area.
