FRYEBURG – The Bradley Backstage concert series presents Mr. Gus & The Latest Flames at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center.

Fryeburg Academy math teacher by day, honky-tonk bluesman by night, Erik Ray Gustafson is bringing his award-winning act to Bradley Backstage. During the past 30 years as a professional musician and entertainer he has, among other things, built up his “one-man-band” act.

He plays the guitar, mandolin, harmonica, kick drum, or his new favorite, the cajon, hi hat, upright bass, and accordion mostly simultaneously.

“I love delta blues, Chicago blues, jump and swing, old country from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, 1960s rock, zydeco, a smattering of jazz and folk, polkas, and anything else that moves me at the time,” Gustafson said.

As a special treat, “Mr. Gus” will be accompanied by The Latest Flames — a blues band made up of Fryeburg Academy student musicians.

Bradley Backstage flips the theater by seating the audience on stage with the performers, creating a much more intimate and unforgettable live concert experience.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. They may be purchased online at www.fryeburgacademy.org/pac, or by calling the box office at 207-935-9232. The center is at 18 Bradley St.
