GREENE — Forrest W. Austin III, Feb. 4, 1978, to Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017. Dearly loved by many, he lived a life of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience and an incredible generosity to anyone in need. However, his deep sensitivity and lack of self-value hindered him from feeling those gifts returned to him. He ended his own life not knowing the significance of his contributions to so many.
Among the many people who loved him are his daughter, Kimberly Austin; his partner, Sharmane Vallerand, and their son, Logan Austin; his grandfather, David Trider; his mother, Kimberly Trider-Grant and stepfather, Arthur Grant; his sisters, Melissa Yeaton and her family, Jessica Gawron and her family; and a large extended family who will miss him greatly.
In remembrance of him, live life with an awareness of the needs of those around you.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
