LEWISTON — In its 12th year, the F.A.B Winter Dance Showcase returns with several performances by artists from Maine and Connecticut to Buenos Aires, Argentina.  The spectacular show begins at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb.11, at L/A’s Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar Street.  The event is sponsored by the Franco Center and Bates College. For more information, call 207-783-1585.

The doors and the bar open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $15 for the general public, $12 for seniors and $5 for students.

The event represents an ongoing effort to provide opportunities for regional dance artists to present dance works in central Maine, as well as an opportunity for local audiences to have access to contemporary dance works. Visually stunning and kinetically mesmerizing, this event combines classic and modern dance pieces in L-A’s most magnificent performance hall.

“This fertile partnership between the Franco Center in Lewiston and the Bates College dance program has presented over 140 dance works over the course of 11 concerts,” says Carol Dilley, associate professor of dance at Bates and dance program director.

Solo performers will be Annie Kloppenberg, Alexandra Bell, Aretha Aoki, Julie Fox, Shawn Hove, and Colleen Fitzgerald from Buenos Aires.  Ensembles in the show include: Art Moves Dance Ensemble, Norway; Bates College Dancers; Collective Motion, Norway and Saco; Sonardance, Saco; The Dance Center of Auburn; Droplet Dance, Belfast; Hio Ridge Dance, Denmark; Portland Youth Dance, Portland; and Scarborough Dance Center.

Solo dancers and ensembles will perform Saturday.
