GREENE — Edwin E. “Ted” Manley passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 4, at CMMC with his family at his side.
He was born in Lewiston on May 16, 1936, a son of the late Albert and Helen (Sullivan) Manley and attended Lewiston schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1954.
He proudly served for 13 years in the U.S. Army and later worked for more than 30 years as a funeral director in local funeral homes. He was compassionate and felt that his calling was to help families through their difficult times.
On May 25, 1994, he married Nancy Turcotte, with whom he enjoyed traveling, especially cruises to the various Caribbean Islands. Most of all, he enjoyed the time they spent together, and also with his special dog, Crockett. They were members of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, where he had served as a junior warden.
Ted is survived by his wife, Nancy, and their sons, James and his fiancée, Katriza, and Steven, all of Lewiston; his former wife, Geraldine, and their children, Bruce and his wife, Tina, of North Yarmouth; Brian and his companion, Crisanta, of Westbrook; Debbie and her husband, Chris Sutkaitus, of Vermont; Brenda and her husband, Don Holman, of Auburn; his grandchildren, Monica, Kaitlynn, Brendon, Noajh, Jarod, Sonja, Cassandra, Candace, Chelsea, Tristan and Gretchen; several great-grandchildren; and his brother, Joe, and his wife, Edie, of Connecticut.
He was predeceased by his son, Danny, and his sister, Betty Sise.
