A Sun Media van barely missed ending up in the Little Androscoggin River next to Route 121 in Oxford on Wednesday morning. Oxford police officer Zachary Bisson said, Edward Snook, 61, of Auburn was driving north when he lost control of the vehicle and it went over the embankment, rolled once down the hill and missed the river “not by a lot.” Snook, who is publisher of the Oxford Group of weekly newspapers, was not injured and no charges were filed. Bisson said the cause of the crash was speed too fast for conditions. Oxford Fire & Rescue and police responded. The road was closed for about an hour to remove the van.
