LISBON — Robert Daniel Smith, 78, of Lisbon died Sunday, Feb. 5, at The Lamp in Lisbon.

He was born in Oxford on Aug. 7, 1938, the son of Charles and Ethel Smith. He enjoyed hunting with his sons, fishing with his wife and landscaping his yard. He was happiest when surrounded by family.

He was a woodworker making furniture and was a security guard at Poland Spring Bottling and worked in many fields at the shoe mills in the 1970s.

He is survived by his sister, Celia Jacobs; his three children, Robert, Daniel and Mary; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Janie (Harriman) Smith; his grandson, Barry Smith; four siblings, Leah, Dottie, Betty and Charles.
