NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library has been selected by the Maine Humanities Council to offer Let’s Talk About It, a free reading and discussion group with copies of books available through the library.

The series, “Violence and Belonging: The Fourteenth Amendment and American Literature,” begins Tuesday, Feb. 28 and continues for five sessions ending May 23 at the library.

All discussions will be held Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This amendment includes defining national citizenship and making sure that states do not deny citizens basic rights. The books in the series look at citizenship, diversity and inequality. The facilitator for this series is Reza Jalali, coordinator of Multicultural Student Affairs at the University of Southern Maine.

Books to be read and discussed in this series include:

• Feb. 28: “Once in a Promised Land” by Laila Halaby;
