MECHANIC FALLS — Regional School Unit 16 Adult Education announced upcoming learning opportunities.

Exercise Classes: RSU 16 is providing the community an opportunity to get moving with exercise classes like Dance Fitness and Rockin’ Boxin’. Afternoon and evening options are available. Six-week sessions start at $40.

ServSafe Certification: 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, March 6 to March 27. This is a nationally recognized certification required of certain staff in restaurants and other institutions that prepare and serve food. This credential tells a potential employer that the applicant has knowledge and attention to the importance of food safety. A certification exam will be taken during the last hour. Tuition: $150, includes book and exam.

Alcohol Ink Pendant: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 9. Class members will create a unique art necklace using paint with colorful alcohol inks. They may add colors, seal and create one-of-a-kind glass pendant necklace with fabric chain. Tuition: $29 advance registration; additional $10 to the instructor the night of class for each necklace made.

Beekeeping: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 9. This class is designed for those thinking about raising honey bees who are interested in learning more about how to get started. Beekeeper, biologist and owner of MisBeeHaven Farm in Poland will explain the importance and benefits of raising bees, the expense involved and how to access the best local resources. Tuition: $10.

Hand-Stamped Cards: 6 p.m. Thursday, March 16. Students will create a set of four cards using rubber stamps. No prior stamping experience is necessary. Tuition: $10, includes materials.

RSU 16 Adult Education also offers career planning and high school completion classes.
