SCARBOROUGH — Bruce Eastman, 61, of Buxton died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

Bruce was born May 23, 1955, the son of Christine and Robert Eastman.

He attended schools in Peru and Rumford and graduated high school in the top 10 in his class. He continued at Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute for Machine Tool. He went on to work at Forest City Chevrolet for 21 years and Bill Dodge Auto Group for 19 years.

Bruce studied for and achieved his private pilot’s license in 1992. He was interested in water quality at Worthley Pond in Peru, and recorded water transparencies for the Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program for 23 years. He was also interested in anything mechanical or electrical and like his dad, could fix about anything. He enjoyed being at camp, as well as traveling, camping, boating, motorcycling, family and friends and most of all snowmobiling. He went on several snowmobiling saddlebag tours all over Maine and parts of Canada.

Bruce married the love of his life and best friend, Sharon Arsenault, on Oct. 18, 1975, who survives in Buxton. Other Survivors include his sister and her husband, Louanne and Rob Cameron of Rumford; and brother-in-law, David Arsenault and his wife, Karin, of Kennebunk; and several nieces and nephews.

Bruce was predeceased by his parents.
