HCC free family ski night 

FARMINGTON — Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County will be offer a free family ski night from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Titcomb Mountain.

The event aims to get youth and families active in their community and encourages kids to be active. 

Funding for this first free night is provided in part through the Carol M. White PEP grant and the Drug Free Communities Grant.

Free rentals will be available at both events while supplies last.

‘Gourmet’ hike up Crow Mountain

SHELBURNE, New Hampshire — The Mahoosuc Land Trust and the Western Mountains Senior College will lead a hike at Crow Mountain on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The hike will leave from Philbrook Farm on the North Road in Shelburne, New Hampshire, at 10 a.m. Those interested in carpooling can meet at the Valentine Farm Conservation Center, 162 North Road in Bethel, at 9:30 a.m.

Those attending should wear showshoes or other traction and bring food to share.

Children’s Festival Feb. 18

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will hold its annual Children’s Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the North Dining Hall in the UMF student center, 

The Children’s Festival is an opportunity for families to break up the winter blues and get out and enjoy a day of free activities.

The Task Force offers a low cost food court. There are activities in the hands-on room, such as face painting, games and crafts. The ever-popular cookie decorating will be back for the little ones. The Gross Motor room will have fun stuff available. And there be quiet corners to read a book with a child.

In addition, C.H.I.P.S. will show a brief video and take fingerprints for child identification.

Greenwood Fiddle Jam

GREENWOOD — Greenwood Fiddle Jam sends music through the town from 1 to 4 p.m. every first and third Sunday of the month at the Greenwood Town Office, 593 Gore Road.

There is a slow jam through 2 p.m.
