GREENWOOD — Mt. Abram Ski Club, an independent, non-profit, organization dedicated to encouraging and supporting snow sports education of children and youth in Western Maine, has announced upcoming fundraising events. Each event is managed by volunteers as is the Ski Club.

With ongoing programs, the Mt. Abram Ski Club has awarded more than $18,500 in scholarships for the 2016-17 season. Recipients include individuals participating in the Mt. Abram race and seasonal lesson programs, school groups for children ranging in ages from second-graders to high school students, and individual awards for kids needing financial support to learn to ski or snowboard.

Torchlight Parade & Family Spaghetti Dinner: Sunday, Feb. 19. The annual parade starts at 5:30 p.m. with dinner in the main lodge at 6 p.m. The cost is $5 per person or $20 per family.

Fitch/Gilpatrick Race: Saturday, Feb. 25. Registration for the annual race begins at 11 a.m. in the main lodge with the race running from noon to 2 p.m. The Mt. Abram race team handles course set up and timing. Cost will be $10 per two runs.

Fundraising Auction: 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. Mt. Abram Ski Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year includes a live auction with a variety of gift certificates, ski gear and items, memorabilia, local gifts and more.
