AUBURN — Pamela Jean Boothby of Livermore passed peacefully in the company of her family and friends Sunday, Feb. 19, at Clover Manor nursing home in Auburn.

She once again is in the company of her loving husband, Ernest Boothby; mother, Elizabeth Fleming Hatcher; and brothers, George and David Hatcher. She leaves her legacy of love with her children and their partners, David and Jan Boothby, Dale Boothby and Donnie Foster, Bonita and John Kenny, Daniel and Wendy Boothby and Kimberly Boothby; grandchildren, Rob and Trish Boothby, Sheri and Stan Hollenbeck, Beth and Scott Rolfe, John Kenny and Shelby Lizzotte, Tyler Boothby and Danniel, Deanna Boothby, Melissa and Mohamed Enain, Megan and Jeremy Ouellette; great-grandchildren, Zach and Baily Boothby, Issaic Withers, Azilee Hollenbeck, Evan, Elijah and Emilee Sawer-Brown, Bryson Rolfe, David Boothby, Tarek and Samir Enain, and Ellie, Emmie and Elijah Ouellette. She is also survived by sister, Joyce Olson and husband, Roger, of Illinois; sister, Bonita and husband, Glenn, of Oregon; brother, John Hatcher of Minnesota; sister in-law, Carmen Hatcher of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

Her challenges early in life made her a strong and determined woman who built a life full of love and joy. Growing up in California and Canada, she set across country with the love of her life in 1952, when the happy couple settled in Livermore raising children, chickens, bees and rabbits. Pamela was well-known for her delicious creations from the kitchen, but there was truly nothing she could not do — and do well — from growing a beautiful garden to wrangling a swarm of bees. Pam enjoyed spending hours bird-watching, loved to scare herself reading and watching ghost stories, and took great joy in watching her family laugh and grow. She also spent time working in the apple orchards, caring for elderly and running a farm and greenhouse business.

Though her time here is through, she will live on in our hearts always.
