AUBURN — Laurier T. (Larry) Levesque, 80, of Greene died with his wife by his side Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

Born in Lisbon on Sept. 26, 1936, the son of the late Edward and Deneige (Lizotte) Levesque, he was educated in Lisbon schools until joining the U.S. Air Force where he earned his GED and served as an aircraft mechanic and air refueler for 10 years before being honorably discharged.

After leaving the Air Force, he started his family with sons Kim and Marc and daughter, Christine. On June 2, 1973, he married Lorraine Denis (Kelley) and welcomed her three daughters and son into his family.

Larry worked many jobs including driving oil trucks and school buses and was an auto mechanic. He worked for 10 years as a welder at Bath Iron Works. His most recent and favorite job was a van driver for United Ambulance, where he worked for 10 years until he was forced to retire in 2015 due to declining health.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and camping with his wife, family and friends. He loved to tinker with outboard motors. Larry was also a musician and played the organ and lead guitar in his band the Royal Kings Men. For 11 years beginning in 1997, Larry and Lorraine wintered in Zephyrhills, Fla.

Besides his wife, he leaves behind two sons, Kim Levesque and wife, Dorothy, and Marc Levesque; daughter, Christine LaFrance and husband, Timothy, all of Lewiston; stepdaughters, Debra Duplissis and husband, Steven, of Leeds, Pamela Grant and husband, Stephen, of Greene and Lisa Knowles and husband, Andy, of Skowhegan; stepson, Brian Kelley and wife, Susan, of Greene; brother, Maurice Levesque of Auburn; brothers-in-law, Richard Denis and wife, Angie, of Hebron and Raymond Denis of Henderson, Nev.; grandchildren, Samantha and Angie LaFrance, Whitney, Chad and Taylor Levesque, Michelle and Benjamin Duplissis, Daniel Grant, Nicole Flint, Jacob and Tyler Robitaille, Ashley and Amber Kelley; great-grandchildren, Tanner Levesque, Ella Duplissis, Ava Robitaille and Addison Flint.

He was predeceased by his infant brother, Robert; infant grandson, Matthew LaFrance; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Levesque and Jackie Denis; and nephew, Don Levesque.
