LIVERMORE FALLS — Stanley S. Sharples, 76, of Livermore Falls passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 5, 1940, in Oak Bluffs, Mass., the son of Lewis Sharples and Phebe (Greene) Sharples. He was a 1960 graduate of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. Stanley proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. Stanley was a car salesman and in addition to owning his own dealership, he was top car salesman among various dealerships.

His life revolved around the Lord. When he was not attending church, reading the Bible or listening to Gospel music, Stanley enjoyed keeping his mind active in other ways. He often played solitaire, tinkered around his home, made acronyms and created inventions. Family and friends were entertained by Stanley’s acronyms, and one of his inventions was patented. He always used creativity to bring forth ideas that could benefit society.

Stanley was survived by his children, Kim Bowie, Kurt Sharples, Stanley Sharples, Lewis Sharples, Clista Smith, Chris Sharples and Christen Tims; his grandchildren, Marissa Bowie-Prashaw, Jacob Sharples, Scott Sharples, Tommy Sharples, Lauren Sharples, Caitlyn Sharples, Ryan Sharples, Wyatt Smith, Lillian Sharples, Kevon Sharples, Kayla Curtis and Kaitlyn Curtis; his siblings, Michael Sharples and Ruth Ann Enseley.

He was predeceased his parents and his wife, Mary Delores (Schmid) Sharples.
