AUBURN — James Christopoulos, 77, of Auburn and formerly of Litchfield passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn.
He was born in Gardiner on Jan. 28, 1940, a son of George A. and Mildred (Mason) Christopoulos.
He was a graduate of Gardiner High School, Class of 1958. Jim was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Upon discharge, he was employed at Eastern Airlines in Newark, N.J. He relocated back to Maine and was employed at Central Maine Power for 17 years.
Jim is survived by the love of his life of 44 years, Carol (Sparks) Christopoulos of Auburn; his son, Peter Christopoulos and wife, Karen, of Pennsylvania and their children, Alex and Aaron; his daughter, Maria Reinstein and her children, A.J., Nick and Eleni; his siblings, Alice Kilroy, Mary Pushard, John Christopoulos, Betty Ann Burr, William Christopoulos, Paul Christopoulos and Sandra Alexander; many special nieces and nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law; and grandson, Jameson Maffei of Ohio.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Oliver Young and Col. Arthur Christopoulos; and his sister, Pauline Harrington.
