I encourage Waterford voters to turn out for the annual town meeting election Friday, March 3, and vote for three-term selectman Randy Lessard.
Under Lessard’s leadership, Waterford’s finances have improved dramatically since 2008. He has helped produce an annual report that is informative and transparent, and he has demonstrated an ability to resolve conflicts peacefully and fairly. He has always operated with the town’s best interest at heart.
In recent years, there has only been one name on the ballot, so voter turnout has been very low. In this year’s contested election, a small group of voters could influence the outcome in a way that does not necessarily represent the wishes of the majority of Waterford voters. Therefore, it is imperative that all residents get out and vote March 3 at the Waterford Municipal Building.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
