100 years ago, 1917
A big herd of Holstein cattle was driven thru the streets of Auburn Friday morning on their way to the establishment of Martin Haas and Company. These dealers on Main street, Lewiston, handle many cattle and are doing a large business.

50 years ago, 1967
(Photo Caption) National recognition was given to Clarence E. March, executive secretary and curator of the Androscoggin Historical Society, for his years of work and for his major part in bringing the local society up to its present position. The award was made by Miss Elizabeth Ring, a member of the awards committee of the American Association for State and Local Historical Awards. In the photograph, Miss Ring is presenting the award to March at a meeting of the Androscoggin Historical Society which took place Tuesday night in the Davis-Wagg Museum at the county building.

25 years ago, 1992
(Photo Caption) Representatives from the Fechheimer Bros., Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, fitted 32 Leavitt Area High School marching band members for uniforms, which should arrive in time for the Maine State Parade on May 2. Fifty uniforms in all will be ordered, with more than half of the needed funding already raised. Area businesses or individuals wishing to contribute an entire uniform will have their name inside the uniform jacket.
