The Central Maine Board of Approved Baseball Umpires (CMBABU) will be holding rules clinic for anyone interested in becoming a certified umpire. The CMBABU covers Sagadahoc, Androscoggin, Oxford, Franklin and parts of Cumberland counties. Levels of play include high school, junior high school, American Legion, Babe Ruth, Senior Baseball (men’s league) and Cal Ripken.

The clinics will be held at Edward Little high schools starting Monday March 6, 6 p.m. The sessions will be held every week and last two hours. Rules books and case books will be made available as part of the $50 class fee. Veteran umpires are encouraged to attend as well to brush up on the rules.

Andy Valley Umpire Association looking for softball umpires

The Andy Valley Umpire Association will be holding its annual softball umpire registration on Monday, March 6, from 6-6:30 p.m. at the Lewiston Armory on Central Ave (enter through the Vale St side door). Anyone interested in becoming an umpire for school and/or recreation league games is encouraged to come register. Clinics will be occurring every Monday and Tuesday night in March at the Armory in preparation for the upcoming softball season.
