INDUSTRY — Residents will vote Saturday on a $407,638 budget, which is about $4,000 less than last year, according to Town Clerk Angel Davis.

Elections and the annual town meeting will be held Saturday, March 11, at the Town Hall. Elections will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the meeting will start at 2 p.m.

First Selectman Lee Ireland is seeking re-election to a three-year term. He is running unopposed.

Ireland said, “We were able to hold the line on all accounts. There is a 1 percent reduction in municipal appropriations.”

The sum of $75,000 is requested for summer road maintenance and $50,415 for winter road maintenance.

Davis said the winter roads budget is lower because money from last year was carried forward.

One article asks voters to raise and appropriate $4,000 for maintenance and improvements to the beachfront at Clearwater Lake.

Voters will be asked to appropriate $22,000 from the Undesignated Fund Balance to purchase a used 2005 case loader backhoe. It would replace a loader the town sold.
