LEWISTON — Ann M. LaPointe, 63, of Lewiston died peacefully Thursday, March 2, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Rumford, on Sept. 27, 1953, the daughter of the late Jean-Paul and Lorraine (Lafleur) Maurais and had been a resident of this community for most of her life.

She was educated in Lewiston schools and was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1973.

Ann enjoyed being a homemaker and a cook. Her passion was cake decorating and she had made many wedding cakes and birthday cakes. She enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing with her husband, Larry. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Laurier LaPointe, whom she married on May 26, 1973; her son, Eric LaPointe and his wife, Michelle; her daughter, Kasey Cook and her husband, Blaine; her sisters, Suzanne Purinton and her husband, Tom, Karen Renaud and her husband, Ian, and Lisa Vaughan; her brothers, Robert Maurais and his wife, Vicky, Norman Maurais, Raymond Spencer and his wife, Carol, and Chris Spencer and his wife, Sherry; grandchildren, Leo, Katie, Ashlee, Blaine III, Bryce and Blake; and a great-grandson, Roman.

She was predeceased by her parents; her maternal grandparents, William and Yvette Lafleur; and her beloved cat, Moxie.
