AUBURN — Laurel Marjorie McKeen, 86, of Mechanic Falls, widow of Renne R. McKeen, died Monday, March 13, at Clover Manor in Auburn.

Laurel was born March 11, 1931, in Mechanic Falls, daughter of LeRoy and June (Pearl) Mortimer. Laurel and Renne raised their family in Mechanic Falls in the house that Renne built. Laurel had a passion for reading and was an avid book collector. She loved the Maine coast and the Maritime provinces of Canada. Laurel also had a strong interest in Native American culture and history.

Laurel is survived by four sons, Stephen, Michael, Peter and Timothy; one daughter, Gayle; a brother, Robert Mortimer; three grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel and Chassie; and two great-grandchildren, Màlikal and Kierra.
