A tractor-trailer bound for Wilton with a load of groceries went off Route 4 in Livermore on Monday morning and overturned, Lt. Glen Holt of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department said. The driver, 38-year-old Wilkens Dorvilien, 38, of Clinton, Massachusetts, was not hurt, but the rig and its load were believed to be a total loss.

LIVERMORE — A Massachusetts truck driver rolled his rig on Route 4 on Monday morning, reducing traffic to one lane and closing the road as the truck was put back on its wheels.

Wilkens Dorvilien, 38, of Clinton, Massachusetts, was not hurt when the tractor-trailer he was driving rolled over north of Waters Hill Road and south of the state’s Round Pond boat launch.

He was traveling north when he came around a corner and got too far center and hit the rumble strip, Lt. Glenn Holt of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said.

The driver pulled the truck back to get away from the rumble strip, but it went too far and got into the snow on the side of the road. The truck rolled onto its passenger side and slid about 200 feet up the ditch, Holt said.

The 2015 Freightliner truck and the trailer registered to Schnieder, a transport company out of Indiana, were believed to be demolished, he said.

Livermore Fire Department conducted traffic control, reducing the road to one lane after the 10:18 a.m. accident was reported, and then closed the road at about 12:45 p.m. so the truck could be put back on its wheels. It was expected to be closed until 2:30 p.m. and then opened up to one lane. A second truck and trailer were called in to offload the groceries that were heading to Wilton, Holt said.

A Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit inspected the rig but didn’t find any violations, he said.
