JAY — Laughs and Apps returns to LaFleur’s Family Restaurant at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 25.
Host Ben Roberts has put together a fun and funny lineup of accomplished comics.
Jake Jacobson is a mostly harmless, contented cynic hacking his way out of the woods of far western Maine. He is the reigning champion of the Crazy Camel Bar and Hookah Lounge Comedy Contest. He was a finalist in the New England’s Funniest Bar Comic Contest as well.
Colby Bradshaw is the young pup of the night. He was recently crowned the Couch Winter Classic Champ 2017 at Empire in Portland where he bested 47 other comics. He can be seen in sketches on YouTube and also had a major part in the short film, “Loose Strings, the Don Delafield Story.”
Brian Brinegar, the Portland Phoenix Funniest Maine Comic 2008-2010, is the featured comic of the night. He has been performing from Boston to Los Angeles. His act can be best described by imaging a seventh grade social studies teacher on a three-day bender.
Closing out this night will be Ian Stuart. He is the founder of the Portland, Maine Comedy Fest, has a YouTube Channel with over 5,000 subscribers and his own Pandora radio station. He produces comedy sketches seen on Funny or Die a comedy video website, and local radio station websites such as WCYY and WBLM. He’s worked with TJ Miller, Jake “the Snake” Roberts, Kyle Kinane, and many others. He will record his third stand-up album April 20 titled “Party Viking.”
Laughs and Apps is $15 for the show, including an appetizer with admission or upgrade your meal for $5 and catch the show. Reservations are recommended at 897-2117.
