LEWISTON — With heavy hearts, we announce Rayleene “Ray Ray” C. (Piela) Seyb of Minot passed away Tuesday, March 14, at Central Maine Medical Center. Rayleene was surrounded by her family when she and her cancer fought to a draw. She was 37.

Rayleene was born in the Kirchheimbolanden, Germany, on July 12, 1979, to Joseph W. Piela and Anke Knapp. She moved to Kansas in 1984, then to Connecticut in 1986, where she graduated from Griswold High School in 1998. She met the love of her life, John Seyb, and they moved to Minot and married in July 2000. Rayleene and John welcomed their daughter, Madeline, in 2010.

Rayleene’s huge smile and welcoming spirit will be missed by her family and friends. As her daughter Maddy put it, “My mom was cool!”

Rayleene is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Madeline; siblings, Christopher and Megan; mother, Anke; father, Joseph; nieces, Cadance, Emma and Ella; nephews Will and Trey; and her cat, Tiger.
