DANVERS, Mass. — Gregory F. Mullen, 61, of Bowdoinham passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, at the Kaplin Family Hospice House in Danvers, Mass., with his loving wife at his side.
He was born in Lisbon Falls on Sept. 28, 1955, a son of the late Albert and Kathleen (Proctor) Mullen. He grew up in the Lisbon Falls area and attended local schools there. After high school, in 1974, he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1977.
On Dec. 31, 2000, he met and fell in love with Velvet Pitkin whom he later married on Dec. 31, 2011, the same day they had met, at West Bowdoin Baptist Church. During that time, Greg had worked at various machine shops. He had been employed at Bath Iron Works as a machinist for the past several years.
Some of Greg’s deepest passions were playing and listening to music. He played guitar, bass and drums. He played in a band called the Pine Tree Warriors and was also an instructor with them. He also enjoyed instrument repair and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
