LISBON FALLS — Lenorma B. Shorette, 86, of Lisbon Falls passed away peacefully at her home Monday, March 20, with her loving family at her side.

She was born in Dyer Brook, on Feb. 20, 1931, a daughter of the late Norman and Margaret (Parker) Mitchell. During her early childhood, Lenorma moved around quite frequently due to her father’s profession.

On Dec. 18, 1948, she married Millard P. Shorette in Denmark. A short time after that, they started a family and Lenorma attended nursing school in Lewiston and became a certified LPN.

In 1985, they permanently settled in Lisbon Falls where she would tend to her family and continue to help people as a nurse at Montello Manor until her retirement.

Lenorma was a member of the West Bowdoin Baptist Church. Some of her passions included sewing, reupholstering furniture, both antique and modern, knitting, crocheting, reading and vegetable gardening. She would can a lot of her crops for preservation and would even take some of the kids out for an all-day affair of blueberry picking where they couldn’t leave until they had a quart each. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones.

She is survived by her four children, Millard “Joey” Shorette and his wife, Denise, of Readfield, Michael Shorette and his wife, Sheri, of Bowdoin, Cynthia Stilphen and her husband, Dwight, of Pittston and Dawn Shorette of Lisbon Falls; as well as her two brothers, Vernon Mitchell and his wife, Linda, and Scott Mitchell and wife, Cathy, all of Denmark; a half-sister, Rebecca Knight and her husband, Fred, of Oxbow; and a half-brother, Walter “Bucky” Mitchell and his wife, Patty, of Windham. She also leaves behind her seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
