EAST POLAND — Carl Elwin Duchette passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, March 19.
The son of Wilfred and Blanche (Davis) Duchette, he was born March 7, 1930. He attended Mechanic Falls schools and worked at Marcal Paper Mill in Mechanic Falls. He joined the U.S. Air Force for four years. Carl was proud of his 26 years of military service with the Maine National Guard.
He married Nancy Ward Duchette on Dec. 31, 1950. He was an extremely hard worker, devoted husband and father. He enjoyed hunting, traveling with his wife and visiting friends and family. He was a generous man and one of the most genuine and honorable men you could ever meet. His grandchildren were his greatest joy.
He leaves behind his children, Larry Duchette and his wife, Connie, Carl Duchette and Cheryl Duchette, Lori Pelletier and her husband, Dan; his brother, Ramon “Spike” Duchette and his wife, Jacky; and several special nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Jonathan Duchette and his wife, Lauren, Whitney Pelletier, Daniel Pelletier, Rebecca Levesque and her husband, Peter, Ian Duchette.
He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy; and son, Michael.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful nurses and doctors at the Single Stay Unit at Central Maine Medical Center, especially Marie.
