Emma MacMahon, 10, of Poland, presents a $260 check to Lee Upton of the High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry, 106 Pleasant St., Auburn. The money, which Emma solicited from family and friends, will help pay for the fresh produce, meats, canned goods, toilet paper, and personal hygiene products that go to 240 to 300 families (about 1,000 individuals) a month. It is open 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. every Thursday. Partnering with the church are Park Avenue Methodist Church, West Auburn Congregational Church, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and Good Shepherd Food Bank. The pantry always needs cereal, spaghetti and other pastas, pasta sauce, soup, peanut butter, toilet paper, diapers, and other hygiene products. Tax-deductible donations are also welcome. The High Street Congregational office is open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
