AUBURN — Karen Galipeau Berube, 55, of Lewiston, died Friday, March 24, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born in Lewiston on May 23, 1961, a daughter of Jean and Rita (Roux) Galipeau. She was educated in local schools and graduated from St. Dom’s Class of 1979. Karen was a lifelong member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She worked for several years in the kitchen at Central Maine Medical Center.

Karen loved art and has made many beautiful paintings. She also loved her cats, and had a collection of unicorns. Most of all she loved time spent with family and friends.

She leaves her mother, Rita Galipeau, of Lewiston; her daughter, Courtney Wilson, of New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Savanah and Andrew Wilson of New Hampshire; her two brothers, Daniel Galipeau and wife, Jennifer, of Rhode Island and Jeff Galipeau and wife, Gina, of Sabattus.

She was predeceased by her father, Jean Galipeau.
