FARMINGTON — Jerry Ireland, U.S. Army veteran representing the United Farmer Veterans of America, will be making a public presentation at the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District’s annual meeting at 5:15 p.m. Friday, April 7, at the W.G. Mallett School in Farmington.
The doors will open with a silent auction.
A free potluck dinner will be ready at 5:30 p.m., followed by Ireland’s presentation at 6:30 p.m.
Those people planning to attend the dinner should preregister by Wednesday, April 5. Any donations will go to the Twenty-Two 2×4 Campaign.
Juan Hernandez, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service state conservationist, will discuss available USDA programs and funding. He will be followed by the Department of Agriculture’s acting director Ron Dyer, who will talk about the new Farm Safety Modernization Act.
