POLAND — Fire crews from several towns were called to Spring Water Road Sunday night after several tractor-trailers were reported on fire.

At about the same time, firefighters to the south were heading to a similar call in Scarborough.

In Poland, firefighters called for help from several towns, including Gray, New Gloucester, Durham, Paris and Oxford after the fire was reported at about 8:30 p.m.

Shortly after, mutal aid crews were slowed down and the fire was reported under control. It was not immediately clear how many trucks had burned or how badly they were damaged.

The fire was reported at 4 Spring Water Road, where the shipping company R.C. Moore parks its trucks, according to a source familiar with the facility.

In Scarborough, on Payne Road, two tractor-trailer trucks were reportedly on fire, also at about 8:30 p.m. Those trucks were reportedly owned by R.C. Moore, as well.

It was believed nobody was hurt in either of the blazes.

Poland fire crews remained at the scene of the blaze on Spring Water Road late Sunday night. The cause of the fires was being investigated. No further information was expected until Monday.

According to the R.C. Moore website, the company has facilities in Poland, Scarborough, Pittston, Pa., and Troutman, North Carolina.

The 4 Spring Water Road location in Poland is also home to Perry Transport, a company that hauls materials to construction sites.
