Why have Rep. Bruce Poliquin and Sen. Susan Collins voted in favor of a bill which will allow broadband internet service providers to accumulate and sell data about their customers’ internet viewing habits?

The bill was passed by both chambers of Congress and now awaits signing by the president. It would allow for potentially serious breaches of the public’s right to privacy. Should I access an internet site looking for information about a medical issue, why should my ISP be allowed to sell that to a third party?

The bill is wrong, and both Poliquin and Collins should be forthright enough to explain their votes.
