NORWAY — The Board of Selectmen has voted unanimously to waive the $100 application fee for Stephens Memorial Hospital’s 5K Run for Wellness in June.
Jennifer Fogg of the hospital said it typically hosts the fundraiser every year, but took a break in 2016.
“We had a lot of individuals expressing disappointment that we didn’t offer the 5K,” Fogg said. “We’re very excited to bring it back this year.”
The fundraiser will also celebrate the hospital’s 60th anniversary.
“We hold this to promote wellness in the area, and at an affordable cost for the people who live here,” Fogg said.
The event will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 4, starting and ending at the Ripley Medical Building.
Fogg said there may be a kids fun run to start the race.
“We’re hoping to promote the 5K with the school, because we’d love for the kids to be a part of it,” Fogg said.

The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously Thursday evening to waive the $100 application fee for the annual 5K Run for Wellness, hosted by Stephens Memorial Hospital.
