AUBURN — Robert L. Gagne, 87, of Oxford passed away Tuesday, April 11, at the Hospice House.
He was born in Mechanic Falls on April 2, 1930, the son of Alfred (Fred) and Mabel McKay Gagne. He attended Poland schools and graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1950. On April 21, 1951, he married Ida May Bird, and they enjoyed almost 66 years of marriage. Bob served in the National Guard for 17½ years and worked in area factories and construction. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and belonged to the snowmobile club.
He is survived by his wife of Oxford; his children, Leonard and companion, Terry Mills, Greg and wife, Julie, Debbie and companion, Scott Cummings, and Kevin and wife, Karen; and 11 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Frederick, Edwin, Eleanor, Helene and Donald.
The family wishes to thank Stephens Memorial Hospital, Market Square Healthcare Center and the Hospice House for the care they gave Bob.
