Coaches: Dave Leclerc (15th year) and Josh Kennison (second year).

Class: C; Conference: Mountain Valley.

Last year’s results: Boys: 14th at state meet; Girls: sixth at state meet.

Returning athletes: Boys: Senior — Avry Griffin (hurdles); Juniors — Elijah Mason, Matt Morin (throws), Brett Hastings, Aaron Vermette (sprints/jumps), Gaelan Boyle-Wight (distance); Sophomores — Ricco Call, Michael Jones, Gabe Pasternak (distance). Girls: Seniors — India Orino (throws), Kristi Hanscom (distance); Junior — Marta Opie (distance); Sophomores — Kaitlee Killam (sprints/jumps), Emily Hanscom (distance).

Key losses: Girls: Caitlyn Brown and Carla Boyle-Wight.

Promising newcomers: Boys: Junior — Caleb Merrill (sprints/throws). Girls: Junior — Kaiya Corriveau (throws); Freshmen — Emma Kruse, Sam Miller, Calla Orino, Koley True (sprints/jumps).

Season outlook: The Telstar girls have a sudden surplus of sprinters, led by sophomore Kaitlee Killam, who performed well at the state championships last year, and three freshmen. Added to that are improved distance runners Kristi Hanscom and Marta Opie. The boys’ team is small, but is not short on experience and athleticism. Avry Griffin and Gaelan Boyle-Wight set the tone, along with veterans Elijah Mason and Aaron Vermette. Brett Hastings’ shift to sprints should give the Rebels a boost.
