LONGMEADOW, Mass. — Lois (Bulger) Costa, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, at home.
Born in Rumford to the late Edward and Mary (Lawler) Bulger, she graduated from the former Emerson Court Reporting School in Boston. Lois worked as an official court stenographer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 31 years until her retirement in 2009.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Costa of Longmeadow; stepson, Timothy Costa; stepdaughter, Pamela McCarthy; six brothers, Thomas Bulger of N.Y., James, Robert, Harry and Edward Bulger, all of Maine, and Joel Bulger of Conn.; one sister, Jean Miller of Conn.; four grandchildren, Steven and Eric Stout and Cole and Brooke Costa; and two great-grandchildren; Logan and Silas Stout.
