In other business, Dailey reviewed a draft budget of $15.47 million for 2017-18 with the board. Startup funds for the new district, along with payment to RSU 10 to move its central office from Dirigo High School to Mountain Valley High School in Rumford and a percentage of employees’ summer salaries to be paid to RSU 10, were also included in the budget.

Site improvements at Dirigo High, Middle and Elementary schools are among those considered at the meeting, and a new bus totaling $92,000 was also included on the list for transportation needs of the district.

In other news, Interim Superintendent Brenda Gammon updated the board regarding a social worker position whose district ownership is in dispute.

Gammon said she called legal counsel regarding the service and said she has also spoken with the provider of the service. The position is still “very unclear” at this point, she said.
