LEWISTON — A Lisbon woman charged with stabbing a woman outside Farwell Mill Apartments last fall has pleaded guilty to a related felony.

A judge in 8th District Court imposed a two-year suspended sentence on Lindsay Knight, 38, of 244 Lisbon St.

She pleaded guilty to criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony, which is punishable by up to five years in prison.

A more serious charge of aggravated assault was dismissed by prosecutors.

Police said that on Sept. 25 at about 2 a.m., officers responded to a report of three people, one man and two women, in the Farwell Mill Apartments parking lot. Responding officers spoke with the man and one of the women, but the other woman had fled the scene after reportedly being stabbed in the arm and neck.

A search dog, using blood found at the scene, led police to a bleeding woman who declined medical treatment for her wounds.

Knight will be on probation for one year, during which time she must not have or use alcohol or illegal drugs and must submit to random search and testing for both. She also must not have any firearms or dangerous weapons and can be searched at random for those.

Knight also must complete evaluation and counseling and treatment for substance abuse and undergo psychological counseling and treatment as directed by her probation officer, the judge said.

She may not have any contact with the 33-year-old victim.
