Residents of College Road, Lewiston, are much elated over the fine work done on that section of street between the Stetson school and Montello street. Over 50 Androscoggin County judges and attorneys met at Androscoggin County Superior Court this morning, making it one of the largest turnouts for a Law Day observance in this county. There was a brief, but impressive, ceremony. A highlight was administration of the Attorney’s Oath to all lawyers present. There was also a statement of position by the Androscoggin Bar Association, and remarks by the president of the ABA.

Catching the Maine State Parade live tomorrow won’t be as easy as flicking on the television and kicking back. The ninth annual parade, sponsored by WCSH-TV 6 and WLBZ-TV 2, will start at 12:30 p.m. at the staging area on Frye Street near Bates College and proceed down Main Street until it disbands at Great Falls Plaza in Auburn. However, the broadcast won’t start until 3:30 p.m. on WCSH-TV as the Boston Celtics – Cleveland Cavaliers game will be broadcast live. Traffic will be detoured around much of the parade route and police are advising drivers to avoid the downtown areas in Lewiston and Auburn between noon and 4 p.m.
