Parish Thrift Shop opening

JAY — The Parish Thrift Shop at Bartlett Memorial United Methodist Church will open for the year Saturday, May 6.

The shop is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through the summer.

?The shop has slightly used items, including clothing, shoes, bedding, linens, household items, glassware, ?books, toys, crafts and sewing items, sports items, furniture and some electronics.

The shop is handicapped-accessible.

Bethel Senior Citizens Club meeting

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet Wednesday, May 10, at Northland Dairy Restaurant in Berlin, New Hampshire, for their meeting and dinner.

The bus will leave the Bethel Health Center at 10 a.m. Reservations are required, even for those who travel on their own.

Hospital Auxiliary seeks donations 

RUMFORD — The Rumford Hospital Auxiliary is seeking items for its annual yard sale that will be held Saturday, May 20.

Whether it’s a single item, a room full or house full, the Auxiliary will gladly accept it. Furniture, rugs, kitchen goods, books and office items are big sellers. Major appliances and clothing are not accepted. All proceeds are donated to Rumford Hospital to continue providing quality healthcare services to the River Valley.

Members of the Auxiliary will also be at 209 Lincoln Ave. in Rumford on Friday mornings throughout May to accept donations from the public.

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club winners on April 21, were, first in Flight A, Pete Cummings and Dick Allen; second in A, Barbara Newcomb and Rosemarie Goodwin; third in B, Dottie Kelleher and Mike True; fourth in A and first in B, Cynthia and Bill Clifford Jr.; second in B and first in C, B.J. and Steve Cavicchi; third in B and second in C, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr; fourth in B, Eleanor and Lindy Wigton; third in C, Jim Dickens and Denny Raymond; and, fourth in C Elaine Dresser and Arlen Riis.

Winners on April 28 were, first in Flight A, Dottie Kelleher and Paul Kahl; second in A, Neanie Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; third in A, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; fourth in A, Barbara Newcomb and Pat Quinn; first in B and C, Jim Dickens and Denny Raymond; second in B and C, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr; third in B, Eleanor and Lindy Wigton; and, fourth in B and C, Jim Krainin and Dave Kallander.

Games are played at 9:15 a.m. Fridays at the Oxford Recreation Building on King Street. All bridge players are welcome, and a partner is guaranteed. 

The annual Longest Day Alzheimer’s benefit will be held Wednesday, June 21 with three games at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.  Food will be provided.
